Pokerstars - Tournaments

Probably the best section of Pokerstars is the tournament one. It counts with lots of tourneys starting every 10 minutes or so, ranging from micro limits to higher ones in all poker variants and mixed games. You can find many guaranteed tourneys, some of them with good relation between buy in and the tournament prize pool. For instance in the power limit a 3$ buy in for a 9000$ guaranteed tournament. Due to the high number of players you can count with big fields at least for the no limit texas hold’em players.  Even in overnight hours, no limit events will attract fields of 500 to 1000 players, so get ready for a few hours of poker. Till the next time good bets.

Pokerstars - Sit-and-go's

About the sit-and-go section of Pokerstars, you can play from the micro limits (under 5$) all the way to the higher limits (100$ and up). When choosing the limit to play, always respect the 2% rule: never invest more than 2% of your bankroll in a sit-and-go or tournament. One of the most important skills of a poker player is a bankroll management skill. You actually might be a pretty good player but without a solid bankroll management you are domed to bankruptcy .
You will also find several blind structures, the normal structure blinds will increase in intervals of 10 minutes. There is turbo and hyper structures which increase at 5 minutes and 2 minutes. I personally recommend not to play this structures because the high variance. Be patient, play the normal structure where your poker skills will come to the fore.
Another variable is the number of players, you will find sit-and-go’s of: 2,6,9,10,18,27,45 players and even bigger sit’s. Some players will prefer play smaller sit-and-go’s and others will play the biggest, that's up to you. Be in minding that the bigger the sit-and-go, more you can win but it’s harder to finish in the money. Be prepared to play a few hours in the bigger sit’s, for instance the 9 players sit-and-go may take from 1 hour to 1:30 hours.
This is the basic about sit-and-go’s at Pokerstars, good bets.

PokerStars

Now a days, the largest poker room in the world is PokerStars, no other poker site offers as much tournaments; sit-and-go’s or cash tables as PokerStars. It counts with a wide range of stakes adjusting to all players bankrolls, from the new player that enters the world of poker for the first time with a small bankroll, to the more expert player and high roller.
When we talk about poker, we talk of Texas Hold’em but there are much more variants, all of them you can find it at PokerStars. Such as Omaha and Seven-Card Stud in all versions, H.O.R.S.E., H.O.S.E., 2-7 Triple Draw, Five-Card Draw, Razz, 2-7 Single Draw Lowball, Badugi, 8-Game, Mixed Hold’em and Mixed Omaha Hi/Lo.
In terms of software it’s well developed, lots of customization of the table view, reliable, fast and for the multi-table players this section is very good. Pretty much one of the best software’s you will find out there.
The negative aspect of been the biggest poker site in the world, regards the skill of the other players. Because of the huge number of players their skill is not homogeneous, so you may find some really though tables with fierce opponents, in the other way you may found other tables quite weak that can turn really profitable using a good solid strategy.
Bottom line PokerStars is one of the best, lots of possibilities and a good poker site to start playing.
More of PokerStars in the next posts, till then good bets.

Welcome

This blog will be dedicated to give  poker players some reviews, promotions maybe some tips about several poker sites out there. Will be especially useful for new players that want to play poker for the first time. I will as much as I can, post here regularly and to make it a useful and active blog.
Just one more thing, I am using the nick KidPoker in honor of one of the greatest players of them all – Daniel Negreanu, my personal favorite.
